Derrick Blount, Sr.

With heavy hearts, we, the Staff and Management of R. Swinson Funeral Services, along with the Blount Family, announce the transition of 71-year-old Mr. Derrick Blount, Sr., of 260 Crestdale Street, Clayton, NC, on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at UNC-Chapel Hill, NC.

The service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2025, at the River of Life Christian Center. Burial will follow in the Eastern Carolina Veterans Cemetery in Goldsboro, NC at noon. Visitation will be held one half hour before the funeral on Friday at the church.

Mr. Blount is survived by his wife, Teresa S. Blount of Clayton, NC; one son, Derrick Blount, Jr. of Clayton, NC; two daughters, Marquita Blount and Ebony Brown of Greensboro, NC; and four grandchildren.
