Dorothy Mae Anderson Smith, 79, of 419-H Richard Green Apts., died Sunday, July 31, 2011, at home.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at St. John FWB Church with Elder Charles Kittrell officiating. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Survivors include sons Bernard Smith and Willie L. Smith of Baltimore, Md.; daughters Rosa Edwards, Gail Burns, Veronica Jones, and Marlena Ashford, all of Kinston, Rebecca Lofton of Durham and Iris Twillie of Louisiana; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 3-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5, at Swinson Funeral Service.
