With heavy hearts, we, the Staff and Management of R. Swinson Funeral Services, along with the Drake Family, announces the transition of Mr. Eddie Drake, Jr. on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC. 

Service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday April 2, 2022, from Christian Fellowship Center 420 Browntown Road, Snow Hill, NC, burial to follow in Browntown Memorial Estates. 

On Friday, April 1, 2022, Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 pm from the Robert Swinson, Jr. Memorial Chapel.

Eddie is survived by his mother-Ruth Drake of Kinston, two daughters-Kimberly Carthen of Grifton, NC, and NeTyra Drake of Raleigh, NC,  five sons- Michael Carthen of Baltimore, MD, Tyrone Carthen of Brooklyn, NY, Ledger Williams of Kinston, NC, Marquan Drake of Durham NC and Rico Jones of Zebulon NC, five sisters-Juanita Larry, Dorothy Golden, Doris Wellington, Betty Plymouth, all of Kinston, NC and Carrie Gallaway of Bennettsville, South Carolina, 34 grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
