Mr. George Barfield Jr. 94 of 1001 Pamela Drive departed this life Tuesday September 8, 2009 at Lenoir Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Monday September 14, 2009 at 1 PM from St. Augustus A. M. E. Zion Church with Rev. Julian Pridgen officiating. Burial will follow in Sandhill Church Cemetery. He leaves to cherish his loving memory 2 sons William E. Barfield of Bridgeport CT, George Barfield, III of Goldsboro NC, 4 daughters Shirley B. Gillis of New London CT, Ettisha Fay B. Goode of Chesapeake VA, Joyce B. Graham of the home and Angelina B. Bremby of Newport News VA, 1 sister Mattie B. Murphy of Kinston, 10 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren. Visitation will be held 4 PM to 8 PM Sunday September 13, 2009 4 PM to 8 PM from the Robert Swinson Jr. Memorial Chapel. Professional servcies entrusted to Swinson Funeral Service.
