Biography

With sorrowful heart, the staff of Swinson Funeral Services would like to announce the death of Mr. Gregory Edwards of 1000 Phillips Road-Kinston who passed away on Monday, Feb. 18, 2013 in Chapel HIll, NC.

A Homegoing Celebration will take place on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013 from the St. Peter Church of Christ with Apostles Fredrick & Dr. Marcia Rhoe officiating. Final burial rites will take place in the Pinelawn Memorial Gardens.

July 2, 1969, a precious bundle of joy was born to Marcia Edwards. Such joy he brought to the family. Gregory Jerome Edwards grew up and went to Lenoir County Schools and graduated from Kinston High School in 1987. Greg was active in sports and was honored as MVP. He was also musically inclined receiving the Wyomie Epps award being nominated first place singing the song "You Light Up My Life". Greg furthered his education attending A&T University Greensboro NC where he majored in Computer Science and Math engineer. After a brief employment with Electrolux in Kinston he suffered, heart failure at the age of 39. Gregory battled severe complication but overcame his elements and went on to start his own business in Website called My Video Talk. Greg was a very active member at Destiny Ministries where he videoed the services and also was the drummer during the services. Greg received his Associate Degree in Theology and his Masters in Biblical Counseling. He received his degree at Bible Faith International Seminary in Smithfield NC. He was also in the process of writing his biography of his life story.
