Hilda Blackwell

Hilda P. Blackwell, 70, of 1608 Carey Road, died July 18, 2009. The funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Christian Fellowship Center, Browntown Community, with the Rev. Charles White Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Pinelawn Memorial Park. Survivors include daughter, Barbie Blackwell of Kinston, sons Phillip Blackwell of Kinston and Kennis Blackwell of Raleigh, brothers James Phillips of Elliott, S.C., Melvin Phillips of Brooklyn, N.Y., sister Mary Rhem of Kinston, 11 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Monday, July 27, 2009 from 2 to 8 p.m. with the family present to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Swinson Funeral Service.
