Mr. John Riley Croom, 78, of 204 Glenwood Avenue died on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at Lenoir Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday May 18, 2010 at 1 PM from the Savannah Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Nick Nicholson officiating. Burial to follow in the Southview Cemetery. He leaves to cherish his loving memory son Levi Perry of Kinston, 3 daughters Cecila Jerkins of the home, Clara Croom and Lula Croom both of Kinston, 5 brothers Paul Croom of Grifton, Jonas Croom, Douglas Croom, Calton Croom, Augustus Croom of Kinston, 2 sisters Eula Williams of Kinston, and Nancy Brown of Philadelphia PA, 7 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. Viewing will be held on Monday May 17, 2010 3 PM to 8 PM at the funeral home. Professional services entrusted to Swinson Funeral Service.
