With heavy hearts, we, the staff and management of R. Swinson Funeral Services, along with the Williams and extended families, announce the transition of 71-year-old Pastor Joseph M. Williams. of Kinston, NC, who peacefully passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at UNC-Lenoir Healthcare.

Service will be held at 12 noon Friday, December 22, 2023, from Love Temple Church-201 N. Oak Forest Rd., Goldsboro, NC; burial will follow in the Mills Memorial Park, Kinston.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2023, from 3 to 5 pm from the Robert Swinson, Jr., Memorial Chapel. A wake will be held from 6 to 8 pm from Greater Guiding Star UHC -1114 S. Slocumb St., Goldsboro, NC.

Pastor Williams is survived by his wife-LaVern Williams of the home, his son-Joseph Williams, Jr. (Kristy) of Creedmoor, NC, his daughter-Stephanie Williams of Knightdale, NC; two grandsons-Landon Williams and Jaycen Williams of Creedmoor, NC, two bonus daughters-Colisa Bowling (Ty) of Winston-Salem, NC and Nekia Wade of Maryland, three bonus grandsons-Caleb Bowling, Braxton Bowling and Chase Lesesne, three brothers-John Williams and Samuel Williams of Kinston and Clifton Williams of Delaware, one sister-Marynette Coward of Kinston, NC,
