Jurden Wooten

GREENSBORO - Jurden "Chick" Wooten Jr., local artist, 81, passed away Monday, June 27,2011 at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro, N.C.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 2, 2011, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness, Highway 11 North, Kinston, N.C. Burial will follow in Pinelawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Kinston. Jurden was preceded in death by his wife, Ernestine; his father, Jurden Wooten Sr.; mother Lillie B.; brothers William and George; his sister Thelma; sons Edward Earl and Louis Perry; and daughter, Vernell Best. He is survived by his sister, Ruth Dillahunt; brothers Lindell, Edward and Murthis; his son, Edward Lamaurice; step-daughter Peggy Dupree; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Viewing will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 1, at Swinson Funeral Service, and from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 2, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness.
