Lela Parks

We regret to announce the recent death of one of God's Angels, Ms. Lela R. Parks who went from labor to reward on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Lenoir Memorial Hospital.

The family has planned for funeral services to be held at noon Wednesday, Oct. 19, at Jones Tabernacle Free Will Baptist Church with Bishop William E. Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Pinelawn Memorial Park. Survivors include her father, Clarence Webb of Virginia; sons Michael Parks and Mustafa Parks of Kinston, Terrance Parks of Greensboro; daughter Dawn Whitfield of the home; brothers Reginald Rhoe and William Rhoe of Kinston; sisters Beulah Johnson of New York, Evelyn J. Hardy of South Carolina; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Her remains be on view with a visitation from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, from the Robert Swinson Jr. Memorial Chapel.
