Mrs. Lucille Thorbs Mahone, 64, of 293 Tucker Street Grifton departed this life Thursday October 29, 2009 at Duke Medical Center in Durham. Funeral services will be held on Saturday Nov. 7, 2009 at 12 Noon from the River of Life Christian Center with Rev. Dr. Stairlon Gregory officiating. Entombment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Estate. She is survived by Father Leslie “Little Bud” Thorbs of Grifton NC, 3 sons MSgt Donald Maurice Thorbs, of Tucson AZ, Larry Darnell Thorbs of Raleigh NC, and Leslie Marshall Mahone of Grifton NC, 1 daughter Kimberly Nicole Mahone of Grifton NC, 1 brother Linwood Earl Thorbs of Kinston NC, 5 sisters Mary Moye of Kinston NC, Rosa Cogdell of Grifton NC, Josephine Sanders of Kinston NC, Dorothy Miller of Grifton NC and Dr. Brenda Thorbs-Weber of Ames, IA, 9 grandchildren.
