Minnie DuPree

Minnie B. Dupree, age 78, of 511 N. Queen St., died Saturday, March 7, 2009, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, N.C. Funeral services will be held at noon, Saturday, March 14, 2009, at St. Mark Church Ministries with Bishop Melvin Parks officiating. Interment will follow in Pinelawn Memorial Park. Survivors include one son, Willie Prince Dupree of Kinston; four daughters, Virgi Neil Herring and Pearlene Dupree of Kinston, Teresa D. Strong of Mount Olive, and Edna D. Bodnel of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; four brothers, Herman Briggs and John T. Briggs of Kinston, Alex "Bud" Dixon of La Grange, Harvey Briggs of Macon, Ga.; seven sisters, Lucille B. Coward of Bronx, N.Y., Lula L. Briggs of New York, N.Y., Inez Briggs of Goldsboro, N.C., Margie B. Lunsford of Maury, N.C., Cora M. Brown of Portsmouth, Va., Connie D. Turnage and Melvin Jean Dupree of Farmville; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Public viewing will be held on Friday, March 13 from 3-8 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. at Swinson Funeral Service.
