Monica Swinson

We, the Swinson Funeral Services with deep sorrow, pain, and heavy hearts announce the passing of our beloved: Ms. Monica "China" Swinson which passed away on Monday, June 6, 2011 at her residence. A celebration of life will be held 4pm Saturday June 11, 2011 from the United American FWB Tabernacle with Bishop Malcolm S. Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Robert A. Swinson III of Kinston; her mother Luvenia Burrell of Kinston; two sons, Robert A. Swinson IV and Omar Swinson of Kinston; two sisters, Carol Wilson of Baltimore, Md., Rosa Alexander of Charlotte, N.C.; two brothers, Jeffrey Newkirk of Kinston, and Thomas Brown of Baltimore, Md.; and 10 grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 10, 2011, from the Robert Swinson Jr. Memorial Chapel.
