Mr. Monroe Flowers, 76 of 511 N. Queen Street, Kinston NC departed this life August 7, 2008. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at 1 PM, from Hickory Grove Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ in Kinston, with Pastor Shelton Keyes officiating. Burial to follow in the Hickory Grove Cemetery. He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife, Mrs. Mary Flowers; eight daughters, Gail F. Burney (Walter), Faye Wade, Peggy F. Lender (Adolph), Queen Flowers, Cynthia F. Mewborn, Susan F. Pridgen (Robert), Renea F. Brock (Ricardo), all of Kinston, NC and Kimberly Flowers of Atlanta, GA; five sons, Curtis R. Thompson, Dennis Flowers, Leon Lofton, Monroe Flowers, Jr. all of Kinston, NC and Major General Alfred K. Flowers (Ida) of Biloxi, MS; eighteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, brotherly friend, Mr. Rossie Lee Daniels and a host of other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Swinson Funeral Service 208 East Blount Street, Kinston where viewing will be held on Monday, August 11, 2008 3 PM to 8 PM.
