Nathaniel Battle

Mr. Nathaniel Battle 59 of Vero Beach Florida departed this life Saturday November 28, 2009. Funeral services will be held on Saturday December 12, 2009 at 11 AM from the Hickory Grove Church of Christ Disciples of Christ. Burial will follow in the Hickory Grove Church Cemetery. Nathaniel was born on September 4, 1950 to the late Olivia Kirkman Battle and Herbert Battle in Kinston NC. He grew up in Kinston, NC. He played in the School marching band and graduated from Adkin Senior High School with the class of 1970. He was a proud father and grandfather. He proudly served the lord at Orignial Tabernalce of Prayer for all people in Goldsboro NC. Nathaniel was preceded in death by his son Nathaniel Battle Jr. and his parents Olivia Kirkman-Battle and Herbert Battle. To cherish his memories he leaves his wife of 11 years Luce Battle of Florida, son Jonathan Galloway of North Carolina, two daughters Martine Desrosier of Florida, Shariah Galloway of Maryland, brothers William Battle of New Jersey, Clarence Battle of North Carolina, Herbert Jennings Jr. of New York, sisters Mary Hill, Loretta(Arlester) Ingram both of North Carolina, Golden Ruby of New Jersey, Louise Lemon of New York, three grandchildren, Imani Battle, Antuan McLendon both of Florida, Daniel Galloway of Maryland and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and sorrowing friends. Sister Loretta Ingram will be welcoming sorrowing friends and family at her home at 515 Linden Ave. Kinston. Viewing will be held on Friday December 11, 2009 3 PM to 8 PM at the funeral home.
