Pastor Stanley Swinson Sr.

The Staff & Management of R. Swinson Funeral Services and the Swinson family regretfully announces the transition of 71-year-old, Pastor Stanley Swinson, of 2200 Rouse Rd, who completed his earthly journey on Friday, May 15, 2020, peacefully at home.

Graveside Services will be on Monday May 18, 2020, at 12:00 noon at Lodge Hall Cemetery.  A public visitation will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2020, from 4:00 PM-6:00 PM from the Robert Swinson, Jr. Memorial Chapel.

Due to social distancing for the COVID-19 pandemic, a public floating visitation will be limited to 10 at a time and funeral services will be limited to 50 people, which is consistent with the current recommendations from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

~Obituary~

Pastor Stanley Earl Swinson Sr. (Boot) was born March 17, 1949 in Greene County, to the late Walter and Bernice Swinson. He quietly departed this life at home surrounded by his family at 7:13 am, May 15th, 2020. He was educated in Greene County Public Schools and graduated in 1969.

Stanley was a construction worker, who later realized entrepreneurship was his destiny. So “Swinson Concrete Inc” was born. He later retired in 1999.

He was called into ministry and pastored: Fosters Chapel FWB Church Kinston, NC; Piney Green FWB Church Mount Olive, NC; Mills Chapel FWB Church Blackjack, NC; Taylors Chapel FWB LaGrange, NC.

Stanley was also proceeded in death by his granddaughter Chequiesta Swinson, his son Melvin Dupree, his sister Sue Powell, and his brother Anthony Swinson.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 50 years, Eldress Audrey Swinson of the home. His children: Shonna (Freddie) Jones, Elder Mona (Angelo) Barfield all of Snow Hill, LeChea Swinson(Dontae) of Kinston, NC, Angela(Dontario) Hardy of Kinston NC, Stanley(Marketta) Swinson Jr. of Grifton NC. Grandchildren: Fredrick (Shakayla) Jones of Florida, TyKwan Jones of Snow Hill NC, Diamond Swinson of Kinston NC, Daysha Hardy of Greenville NC, Elijah Swinson of Kinston NC, Shakaria Swinson of Grifton NC, Mark Dillahunt of Grifton NC, Zamiyha Barfield of Snow Hill NC, Courtney Dillahunt of Grifton NC, Zy’trell Barfield of Snow Hill NC, Sha’Tyrianah Anderson of Kinston NC, Samarri Swinson of Grifton NC. Special care giver and adopted son Ha’Keem Brown of LaGrange NC. One sister Mary Ellison of Richmond Virginia. Three brothers Larry Swinson of Snow Hill, NC Walter Swinson of Greenville NC, and Wayne Swinson of Snow Hill NC.
