Mr. Raeford Matthews of 1730 Randolph Farrow Road died on Thursday, June 24, 2010 at Lenoir Memorial Hospital in Kinston, NC. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 3, 2010 at 1 PM from Robert Swinson Jr. Memorial Chapel with Eldress Marion Sutton officiating. Interment will follow in Grant Cemetery. Survivors include his beloved and devoted fiance', Dorrie Hardaway of the home; three sons, Ray Matthews, Jr, of Durham, NC, Taureece Matthews of South Carolina and Ian Matthews of Kinston, N.C.; two daughters, Shantese Matthews of Germany and Monsharae Matthews of Kinston, NC; two step daughters, Bartrica Graham and Jatrice Hardaway of Kinston, NC; one sister, Desiree Matthews Jones (Lester) of New Haven, CT; one brother, Donald Ray Matthews of Rose Hill, NC; two aunts, Goldie James of Kenansville, NC and Betty Joe Matthews Coley of Wilmington, DE; two uncles, Lawrence Matthews (Berma) of Rocky Mount, NC and Jimmy Montgomery (Sabrina) of New York, NY; a special uncle, Roy Raspberry of Kinston, NC; and a host of grandchildlren, nieces, nephews too numerous to name.
