Richard Eugene Smith, 62, OF 600 JP Harrison Blvd., died Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at Lenoir Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2011, at St. Peter COC with the Rev. Tyrone Haney officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Memorial Park in Pink Hill. Survivors include his wife, Devola D. Smith of the home; two daughters, Linda Smith of Kinston and Fallon Smith of Greensboro; three sons, Richard Smith Jr. of Greensboro, Richard E. Smith and Herman Smith of Germany; two sisters, Marion King of Washington, D.C., Sandra Evans of Fort Washington, Md.; and eight grandchildren.
