Samuel Platt

Samuel A. Platt Sr., 57, of 2502 Tower Hill Road, departed this life Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at Duke University Medical Center in Durham. The funeral will be held t 2 p.m. Sun-day, July 19 at Greater St. Peter Church Ministries with Dr. Moses Pitt officiating. Burial will follow in Branch Cemetery, Pink Hill. Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline G. Platt of the home; son Samuel A. Platt Jr. of Kinston; daughters LaShaun Platt-Thompson of Jones-boro, Georgia and Tiara N. Platt of Dudley; sisters Barbara Branch-Waller of La Grange, Jannella Platt-Marks of Atlanta, Ga., Diann Platt-McNeil of Kinston; and two grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 3-8 p.m. Saturday, July 18 at the funeral home. Professional services entrusted to Swinson Funeral Service.
